sport parent programming

there are no experts in sports—just better-informed opinions

Sport parents are often much maligned, due to the passion and commitment that we have to supporting our children’s participation in sport. One of the biggest concerns in youth sport is the lack of collaboration between the main tenants of youth sports:
parents, coaches and players.

a network for parent education and support

Sideline Winners is designed to help alleviate some of the misconceptions between parents and club staff. This program seeks to provide information on the different and varying voices within sports.

John Clubb, as a parent of three boys, who have participated in soccer, triathlon (see the theme), boxing, wrestling and many school sports, has experienced these contrasting perspectives and presents a balanced approach to addressing any concerns from within a program.

Many of these misgivings come from a lack of awareness or understanding of the others' perspective of the program goals. By providing information on Canada’s Sport for Life, Long Term Athlete Development research and programming, that guides many programs, it is hoped greater awareness may be shared in how to support youth athletes, coaches and parents.

To promote and nurture a positive growth environment in sports, all committed parties must maintain a positive and open network of communication.

Clubb Sport will tailor your program development to maintain consistent messaging. By aligning with your sport and club philosophy we will work together to reach each other’s needs and wants.
